Chabaso Bakery, one of the largest artisan bakeries on the eastern seaboard, has joined a growing movement of corporations building on-site gardens for employee and community use. From Pepsi-Co to Kohls, employers are aiming to curb long-term health costs by supplying access to wellness activities. Chabaso has partnered with the Fair Haven Community Health Program’s Diabetes Prevention Program to build a garden that lines their factory walls and allows any employee to work and take home shares of the harvest.
